Does the thought of pulled pork doused in vinegary sauce with deep flavors appeal to your taste buds? Maybe a rack of pork ribs with a sweet and smoky glaze gets you all excited? Or perhaps you’re a fan of low and slow smoking. If BBQ is what you’re crazy about, you’ll surely not be disappointed with the Texas-style. And the Dickey’s Barbecue Pit should be on your bucket list of BBQ restaurants.
The Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is immensely popular and richly deserves to be the largest barbecue chain in the United States of America. Walk in the front door and the first thing you’ll notice at any Dickey’s is a lot of people hanging out with their family or friends looking forward to eating real barbecue food. The atmosphere is great and the staff quite friendly, keen to make recommendations so you make the right choice from what is a fairly big menu with a staggering selection of meat, sandwiches, sides and drinks.
Having served different generations of bbq lovers for over 75 years now, the Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is a nice little amalgam of delicious bbq dishes and kind-of has it all, and as such, is one of the nicest spots in the country to savor real barbecue. Picking what to order has always been one of the most difficult things about eating at the Dickey’s, as this is a deviation from the typical selection of a simple selection of barbecue meat and a few sides that define many smokehouse menus. The quality of food is pretty evident in the meat the pitmasters produce; it’s meaty, juicy and tender, with a vivid smoky ring. Not a surprise seeing that they cook fresh per day, and use a hickory smoker in house to slow smoke brisket for hours until tender before they shred or chop it up. But the brisket and ribs are reason alone to visit- cooked just right, meaty, moist and juicy, with the right amount of spice and seasoning, a must try for those who love their bbq.
They always keep it old school and don’t sauce anything to drown out the meat. Anyway, the meat served here tastes great regardless with or without sauce, and the sides are just great examples of comfort food: the popular mac n cheese, crispy and crunchy waffle fries, and the creamy, smooth salad to round it off., and there is a lot to love about these good old barbecue joints where you get to relish that authentic Southern barbecue food and experience.
Delighted with their success so far and the kind of experience they’re able to provide guests, the Dickey’s Barbecue Pit chain is now on a mission to take authentic Texas-style barbecue to rib and brisket-starved communities in many locations. The family-owned barbecue chain has had great success taking authentic Texas-style barbecue to different locations both inside and outside the country, especially after Roland dickey Jr took charge of the business in 2006. With more locations in pipeline, the Dickey’s business is likely to see huge growth in future. And they thoroughly deserve it, for they provide a great place for people to gather and celebrate lovely bbq food.
