Simon Cowell's girlfriend has allegedly threatened to kill herself if he dumps her.
Former model Terri Seymour has reportedly told the acid-tongued TV host she "wouldn't be around for much longer" if he continues with plans to break off their two-year romance.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Simon wants out, but at the same time he doesn't want to be held responsible for something Terri might do. "Every time he brings up the subject she'll say something like: 'If you leave me I won't be around much longer - I can't go on without you.'
"Or: 'I won't eat anything. I'll stop eating.' He's scared she might do something really silly. She's a lovely girl, but she really is at her wits end.'"
Friends of the millionaire record boss say he has tried to end the relationship several times over the past six months - but has been unable to leave because of 31-year-old Terri's suicide threats.
Last weekend, the glamorous couple jetted back to Los Angeles after a three week make-or-break holiday on Barbados, but insiders say the trip has done little to repair their rift.
The source added: "Barbados was the crunch time. In his heart Simon knew the end was close. For Terri's sake he agreed to give it one last chance. But it just underlined everything that he already thought. "The truth is Simon is better off on his own. He's always said he'll never marry and doesn't want kids. But she won't let go and he doesn't want to hurt her. It's a nightmare for them both."
