Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell (who plays Kevin Webster) has stated that he may quit the ITV soap over his adulterous storyline.
According to The Sun, Le Vell has threatened to walk out if his character doesn't end his illicit affair with Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns).
Le Vell has played Corrie's resident mechanic for 26 years. He said he would be appalled if Kevin does not change his ways after learning that his wife Sally has cancer.
Speaking to TV Biz, the married father-of-two said: "If Sally's cancer doesn't end the affair and Kevin's got no remorse towards her then I'm leaving because I can't be putting up with it.
"If he carries on with Molly he doesn't deserve to be in the family unit, it's as simple as that."
This Friday sees the screen couple confess they have fallen in love with each other.
Later, Sally will tell Kevin she has been diagnosed just as he and Molly plan to start a new life together, creating a crossroads for him.
However, Le Vell claims that most of his sympathy lies with Molly's naive boyfriend Tyrone (Alan Halsall).
He explained: "I feel most sorry for Tyrone. Sally's had her share of affairs but Tyrone's done no harm to anyone."
