Coronation Street teen tearaway David Platt is attacked and beaten in a gripping new plot.
18-year-old David, played by Jack P Shepherd, is left bleeding and unconscious in an alley way later this summer in what will be the soap's latest whodunit storyline.
Having plenty of enemies as possible culprits behind the attack, viewers will be left hanging on to discover who is responsible for the brutal attack.
An insider told The Sun: "David's assailant will be a closely-guarded secret.
"Apart from Joe and Jason, Len could very well be the violent attacker or Tina may just have had enough of David's antics. Or could it be someone else?"
The suspects in the case are Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) and his ex Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) – who are both dating much to David's dismay.
His mother's boyfriend, Joe McIntyre (Reece Dinsdale), is also out for revenge after David encouraged his mum Gail to break up with him.
And Len Windass (Conor Ryan) - Gary Windass' uncle - is seeking revenge after David encouraged Gary to take part in a robbery which he was then jailed for.
However, before the attack takes place Jason and Joe both have run-ins with David making them the police's prime suspects.
