Coronation Street actor William Roache has been cleared of all charges by a jury.
The soap star, known for his long career playing Ken Barlow, was on trial for two rape and four indecent assault charges.
The three-week trial into whether or not Roache assaulted five women who were aged 16 or under between 1965 and 1971 took place at Preston Crown Court.
Speaking outside the court, Roache said: "In these situations there are no winners... we should be much kinder to ourselves.
"If you'll excuse me, I need to get back to work."
Roache had previously been cleared of a fifth indecent assault charge due to lack of evidence.
Broadcaster ITV has confirmed that they will be discussing the soap star's future stories on Coronation Street following his suspension during the trial.
An ITV spokesperson said: "We look forward to talking to Bill soon about his return to work."
