Cornwall Beach Going For A Song

A whole beach in Cornwall has been listed £250,000 - and it comes complete with its own water sports centre.

An entire beach in Cornwall is being sold for the same price as a parking space in central London -- £250,000. The property, the picturesque Sandy Polkerris beach near Fowey, is being sold as a fully functioning business complete with café, shop, and trading rights. It has a remaining eight years of the original 15-year lease. 

 

The business is being sold as the owners, the Shillito family, wish to focus on their other business, a caravan park. 

 

Bob Shillito said: "On any given day I could be acting as harbourmaster for a visiting yacht, scooping ice creams, hiring out paddle boards, negotiating with equipment suppliers, and awarding sailing certificates all in the same afternoon.

 

"You never know what will come up next.

 

"Many youngsters have been taught to sail, windsurf or powerboat in this beautiful sheltered bay on the South Cornish Coast and will have happy memories.

 

"Many will have started out with big wide eyes, feeling nervous and end up proud, happy with a great sense of achievement and a certificate too."
