The Co-op Group has re-entered the healthcare market with the goal to introduce new and innovative customer solutions using advanced technology. The company has recently acquired Dimec, an NHS-approved digital prescription app designed to enable patients and their GPs to interact and better manage their prescription needs.
Rachael Clarke, Pharmacy Superintendent at Co-op Health: “The app is a game-changer for patients who need repeat prescriptions.
“Currently if a patient needs medication, it involves a call to the doctors to send the prescription to the chosen pharmacy or some patients use a community pharmacy service to place their repeat prescription order on their behalf.
“Our app takes the middle man away, and puts the patient back in control.
“So with the click of a few buttons patients can order their prescription, choose which pharmacy they want to pick it up from, or have it posted directly to their front door.
“The app is making it easier for patients to access their medicine but it is also creating a much more effective system for GPs so their staff can concentrate on other services.”
