Jessie Wallace wants to be in a BBC sitcom once she has quit Albert Square for good.
The 33-year-old actress, who plays feisty Kat Slater in EastEnders, has already announced that she is leaving the Walford soap.
But now a show insider has told the Daily Star that doing a sitcom "has a big appeal for her".
For Jessie to have an urge to act in comedy is unsurprising after her many tragic storylines in EastEnders.
First Kat revealed how she was sexually abused by her uncle as a child and gave birth to 'sister' Zoe, and then she became horribly entangled in a love triangle between husband Alfie and jilted, blackmailing Andy.
Now she has a chance to lighten up a bit. The Albert Square mole said: "Jessie has had a very intense time on EastEnders and it has been hard work emotionally.
"She has turned in some of the programme's most mesmerising performances."
