In yet another incident that marks the latest string of bizarre displays of behaviour, Transformers star Shia LaBeouf has been charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal trespassing for disturbing the Broadway production of popular music Cabaret in New York last night.
The 28-year-old Lawless actor, who “retired” from public life earlier this year, was reportedly “combative” and was “crying” as he was led away by the police.
New York Police Department spokesperson George Tsourovakas said: “He was being rather difficult and combative, verbally... To the point where security guards asked him to please leave the premises and he refused. Police were called and he was detained and arrested.”
A witness, Benj Pasek took to Twitter and wrote: “Just saw Shia LaBeouf in handcuffs in tears surrounded by 6 police officers outside of CABARET the musical. Oh New York, u is a crazy b***h.”
Shia is not new to being arrested having been detained several times in the past. In 2011, he was briefly held after an altercation with a drinker in California. He was also arrested in 2008 for drunk driving. In 2007, he was arrested at Chicago Walgreens store for refusing to leave the premises after several requests from the security.
