Clooney's post-Oscar pasta
Film
16:30 07 March 2006
George Clooney shunned the lavish post Oscar parties in favour of getting drunk with friends at a small Italian restaurant.
The handsome star - who won Best Supporting Actor for his role in 'Syriana' - went to West Hollywood's Dan Tana's restaurant with on-off girlfriend Krista Allen and a host of celebrity pals.
George confessed he skipped the big parties - such as the one thrown by US magazine Vanity Fair - because he didn't want to spend the night with people he wouldn't choose to be friends with.
He is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "I'm going to meet my buddies. They're with their wives - and I get to walk in with an Oscar. That's the fun of it."
The group - which included Mick Jagger, 'Desperate Housewives' star Nicollette Sheridan, her boyfriend Michael Bolton, Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie - partied until 5.30am.
Rachel Weisz - who won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in 'The Constant Gardner' - joined the celebration later.
