Choosing a Retirement Home with WiFi
WiFi is a huge factor in choosing a retirement home, a recent study has found.

Anchor, a retirement housing provider, has carried out a survey to identify factors that are being seriously considered when one chooses a retirement home. The figure reveals that aside from a sense of community and friendly neighbours, potential clients are also looking for a reliable broadband connection.
The technology is now being welcomed by more and more older people as they are able to use VoIP services, such as Skype, to stay connected to their friends and families. They are also able to use the service to shop online and even schedule doctor appointments.
George Thewlis, 71, who lives in a studio flat at Anchor’s Cherry Tree Court in Harwell, near Didcot in Oxfordshire, said that the service “enables me to email my friends abroad, shop online and Facetime my family over in southern Ireland almost every day,”
He added: “I have always taken an active interest in technology and recently I’ve begun helping my neighbours with any problems they have – from showing them how to set up their iPad, print from their PC or download an app on their mobile.
