This year's Children In Need has raised £37 Million, breaking its own fundraising record.
The event was hosted by Dermot O'Leary who replaced veteran presenter Sir Tery Wogan. O'Leary, who roundly praised, said: It's been an absolute blast. Thank you so, so much.'
The event, which featured performances by singer Selena Gomez and the band Years And Years, began with a video presented by One Direction, Sir Tom Jones, and Dame Helen Mirren. They thanked the public for the millions donated last year saying that the money helped 500,000 children in the UK in 2,500 projects.
Chart star Ellie Goulding performed with her new single Army as well as Bonnie Langford who performed a high-kick routine to songs from the musical Top Hat.
Viewer Kirsty Hyndes wrote: 'Dermot doing a fantastic job tonight with everyone else. Genuine emotion. Amazing results so far! Well done. #donatenow'.
Linda Batt posted: 'Brilliant job Dermot filling in for the Wogan ... keep going ... great night as ever.'
