Corvette, Chevy’s iconic model in its line-up, is celebrating its 60th birthday this year.
At 60, Vette is older when compared to seminal sports car such as Porsche (which celebrated its birthday last year) and Lamborghini (which will also celebrate its 50th birthday this year.)
Corvette, now in its seventh-generation, is Americana. Since its inception, Corvettes found their way on to the big screens and car-lovers worldwide.
Chris Perry, vice president, Chevrolet marketing, said in a statement: “During the past six decades, the Corvette has been woven into the fabric of American culture, as the sports car of choice for movie stars, musicians and astronauts.
“The very best Corvettes represent the state-of-the-art for their eras in terms of design, technology and performance.”
