Big Brother star Chanelle Hayes has given birth.

The reality star, who found fame on Big Brother 8 revealed the news on Twitter.

She wrote: "20th July 2010, happiest day of my life. I'm a mummy and my baby is beautiful. X"

Hayes split from her newborn's father Matthew Bates after she fell pregnant. She also had a brief relationship with Jade Goody's widower Jack Tweed.

In June, she tweeted: "ThereÂ’s only one boy IÂ’ll love for the rest of my life.

"He doesnÂ’t need lies, excuses and apologies.  HeÂ’s my gorgeous baby, nobody else matters.

"Yes everyone! CouldnÂ’t keep the secret any more, my baby is going to be a gorgeous little boy!!!"

She previously told a magazine: "I think I will be a perfect mum! I'm really maternal. It's a side to me people don't know - they just see me at 18 crying in the Diary Room, but that was so long ago."

Her spokesperson said: "Mother and baby are doing well. He weighed in at 6lbs9oz."
