Paddy Doherty has been crowned winner of Celebrity Big Brother.

The Big Fat Gypsy Weddings star was voted the winner ahead of reality show veteran Kerry Katona, who had previously been the favourite to win the Channel 5 version of the competition.

On leaving the house, Doherty thanked the applauding crowd, telling host Brian Dowling:

"Thanks very much. God bless every one of you."

The bare-knuckle fighter also revealed that he didnÂ’t think he would survive a week in the house, saying:

"I swear to God. One week, thatÂ’s all I thought. I didnÂ’t think IÂ’d get this far. I had no gameplan, I was just myself. I thought Jedward was going to do it."

Model Bobby Sabel was the first housemate to be evicted on the night, followed by Darryn Lyons, actor Lucien Laviscount and reality starlet Amy Childs.

Irish X Factor losers Jedward, who Doherty described as "nightmares", finished third.

Following the winner being crowned, it was revealed that Pamela Anderson will be joining the 14 new contestants for the launch of regular Big Brother.

The Baywatch star said that it was "fun" to be going into the house, before vividly adding:

"I'm going to give them the ride of their lives, and leave a skidmark on every one of them."

Big Brother begins tonight at 9.30pm on Channel 5.
