Welsh Water has confirmed that it will be conducting a CCTV survey following damage to a Holywell road during Strom Christoph.
A spokesman for Welsh Water said: “Following heavy rain during Storm Christoph a section of tarmac on Rhewl Road, Holywell was damaged by a section of the wastewater network located beneath it.
"This was linked to the heavy rain the area experienced and our team will be carrying out a CCTV survey of the area to ensure there is no further damage to the network and will be carrying out any required repairs.
"We have contacted Flintshire Council who have put up barriers around the affected area and intend to carry out resurfacing work on the road in the nearby future. We would like to apologise for any disruption caused.”
Following the incident Steve Jones, Flintshire Council’s chief officer for streetscene and transportation, said: “The council is aware of a number of locations where the recent heavy rainfall has caused damage to the highway network.
"The priority at the moment is to respond to the immediate flooding sites, to both assist at properties at risk of flooding and to reopen the roads currently closed due to the flooding.
