An eagle-eye CCTV operator has played a role in the discovery of a recent firearm incident and the subsequent arrest of a 15-year-old boy. This follows a report of a man with a handgun in Hall Place in Spalding.
Community Safety and Enforcement manager Dee Bedford confirmed that the incident took place on January 15. She said: "A CCTV operator observed an incident in Spalding town centre and contacted the police."
"Without the CCTV operator, the police wouldn't have known.
"CCTV continued to monitor the incident, proving the police control room with updates while the appropriate resources were tasked.
"CCTV then provided good quality images of the incident, despite it being dark, which have enabled police to identify the person involved, make contact with them and continue their investigation."
