TV presenter Caroline Flack has released a statement about an offensive piece that US magazine One Direction published about her.
She described the magazine article, which encouraged readers to make a voodoo doll of her, as ‘one of the most hurtful things I’ve ever read’. She also said that it was ‘nasty bullying’ from the fan magazine, which criticised her for dating Harry Styles.
The American magazine labeled the Xtra Factor presenter as an old woman who reads hate mail in her free time. It also said that the presenter looks like a goat.
The feature included a photo of Caroline with pins sticking out of her to highlight what the magazine called ‘a dirty blonde dye job’ and ‘crow’s feet’. The feature was captioned: “Never before have 1D fans united in greater numbers than to share their feelings for Caroline Flack, the old woman who dated Harry Styles.”
The piece also read: “So to help you, here’s voodoo doodoo Caroline.”
Caroline, who has broken up with Harry way back in January, tweeted that she was aware of the article and ‘have been for some time’. She took the opportunity to thank her loyal fans and followers for their ‘nice supportive messages’.
“I’ve never had so many nice messages in one afternoon. Me and my crows feet are thankful,” she sarcastically said, referring to the supportive messages she received following the release of the article.
