Police are currently hunting a 24-year-old man identified as Justin Bourque, who went on a shooting rampage killing three members of the Royal Canadian Mounted police. Another two officers were also injured in the shooting.
A warning was issued and residents of Moncton northeast of St. John, New Brunswick were asked to stay indoors. The police also tweeted an image of the suspect wearing military camouflage and wielding two guns.
Police have already blocked the road and drivers have been warned to stay away.
Meanwhile, a Facebook page that appears to belong to the suspect was updated 11 hours ago. Justin apparently posted lyrics of the Megadeth song Hook in Mouth: 'Don't try to fool us, we know the worst is yet to come. / I believe my kingdom will come'
Police Constable Damien Theriault told Associated Press: "We are still actively looking for the shooter,"
"He is believed to still be in the Pinehurst subdivision area of Moncton. We are urging people in that area to stay inside and lock their doors and for people to stay away from that area."
