Can Someone Own The Sun?

A woman registered the sun in her name at a notary office in Spain before selling it on eBay.

Maria Duran has been banned from selling plots on the Sun on eBay, which she claims ownership since 2010. The 54-year-old registered a part of the star in her name at a notary office in Spain. 

 

eBay has pulled out her listing wherein she sells square-metre plots for one euro each, saying that her ads violated its intangible goods policy. 

 

She threatened to sue and now one Spanish court has recognised her claim. Ms Duran is demanding £7,500 for payments she says she has not received. A trial is scheduled next month as Ms Duran has rejected eBay’s offer to settle the case out of court.
