London remains to be one of the most, if not the most progressive city in the UK especially in terms of building smarter solutions in improving the lives of its residents using available advanced technologies and Internet of Things (IoT).
Despite unprecedented budget cuts, boroughs across the city continue to harness the benefits that advanced technology can offer to achieve a higher standard of living.
Camden Council is one of the boroughs that have demonstrated how effective data collection can transform public services to create significant improvements and drive efficiencies.
So far, the council’s efforts have delivered cost-savings of up to £63million and have led to the improvement of their processes in parking and housing management, adult social care, benefit provision and council tax administration.
The council’s data visibility and intelligence sharing has fully integrated all their departments resulting in significant operational efficiencies that allow staff to focus on processing end-user needs and providing them with solutions, rather than struggling to catch and process customer queries. This allowed the council to save 45per cent in working hours in various areas.
