Film
13:30 10 August 2005
Bruce Willis made an impromptu visit to the house where he was born - leaving the current owner stunned.
The Hollywood heavyweight turned up at the home of Doris Busch, in Idar-Oberstein in Germany, unannounced.
Willis, who arrived at the home with his father David, told amazed Doris he had come to see his birthplace.
The actor was born in Germany in 1955 when his dad, who served in the US military, was based at the nearby American army barracks.
The 'Die Hard' star's surprise visit left owner Doris speechless.
She said: "We were so shocked. We'd no idea it was the house where Bruce Willis was born."
According to reports, Willis took photos inside the house, in which he spent the first two years of his life, particularly of his basement bedroom.
Willis is known for his love of his German birthplace and was even named "special ambassador" for Idar-Oberstein on his 50th birthday in March.
