Broadband for Stirling
Broadband has been switched on in Stirling following a three-year campaign.

Brig o’ Turk in Stirling now has access to fast and reliable broadband service – a result of the local council’s rural connectivity drive and some local fundraising.
Over the years, Brig o’Turk has seen young families moved away to larger settlements because of more affordable housing and decent internet access for children’s studies. Due to the thinning population, many local businesses like a petrol station and café have closed.
The introduction of broadband in the area has ushered in fresh optimism. There is a plan to buy the school building and repurpose it as a tea room and shop. There are also talks about buying an electric vehicle for the village to share in the same way as a city car club.
But for Tim Tindle, the chair of the Trossachs Community Trust, the more pressing needs for residents are social enterprises, local jobs and affordable housing.
