Work has begun on Briton Ferry's new CCTV network.
17:16 13 July 2021
A new CCTV system is currently being installed in Briton Ferry in a bid to deter crime and anti-social behaviour. The scheme is funded by Briton Ferry Town Council and involves the use of the latest digital camera technology designed to provide ultra high definition images.
The new Wi-Fi connected system is equipped with privacy technology and will feature different types of cameras for different parts of Briton Ferry.
Councillor Leanne Jones, Neath Port Talbot Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Public Protection, said: “These cameras featuring the very latest digital technology are one of the many tools we use, working with the Safer Neath Port Talbot Community Safety Partnership and in this case, Briton Ferry Town Council, to make communities safer.
“A CCTV system like this also provides confidence and a visible presence to give reassurance to our communities and can provide evidence to bring those responsible for crime before the courts.
“We are delighted to be working with Briton Ferry Town Council on this important project.”
