Bradford Council’s Curriculum Innovation Team now offers virtual resources for teachers, parents and pupils amidst the unprecedented mandatory lockdown and social distancing protocols due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The educators, who support primary schools with the computing curriculum, has already made and uploaded YouTube videos that set fun tasks for primary school aged children.
The first couple of challenges ask students to create a treasure hunt using QR codes and making digital photo collage showing the signs of spring. New challenges will be added every weekday and parents are encouraged to do them with their children.
Councillor Imran Khan, Bradford Council’s portfolio holder for or education, employment and skills, said: “This is a great bit of work from the Curriculum Innovation team, providing activities to keep children entertained and learning while everyone is urged to stay in their homes.
“I am sure the #techawaychallenges will help ward off boredom while schools are closed for the majority of pupils in a bid to tackle the spread of the virus.
“These are challenging times for us all and it is good to see people of our district working together, and in new ways, to help each other through.”
