McDonald’s in Bracknell is adopting tried and tested techniques to dissuade group of teenagers from gathering outside the store – it turned off the WiFi and turned up the classical music.
The move was in response to concerns at The Lexicon about anti-social behaviour arising from large groups of young people congregating outside the fast food restaurant. The result was a decrease in trouble at the new Lexicon shopping area.
McDonald’s and Lexicon staff was also trained in conflict resolution while CSP sent warnings to offenders and contacted schools.
At a recent meeting with Bracknell Forest Council (BFC), it has been confirmed that there was a 1per cent reduction of victim-based crime, which is the best score from all local authorities in the Thames Valley.
