Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey was joined by co-star Kate Bosworth for last night's lavish British premiere of Beyond the Sea in London's Leicester Square.
Spacey, who won Oscars for his performances in The Usual Suspects and American Beauty, wrote, directed and stars in the semi-biographical account of the life and times of 1950s singer Bobby Darin.
As a lifelong fan of the smooth-voiced lothario who died at the age of 37 from the heart condition that had troubled him all his life, the film represents nothing short of a labour of love.
"This is my tribute to someone I think was a remarkable talent," said Spacey, who sings all 18 songs on the film soundtrack.
"Bobby Darin was one of the greatest entertainers the world has ever known, and yet, because he died young, he's been kind of forgotten."
Darin became one of the biggest stars of the 1950s, churning out a stream of classic hits including Mack the Knife, Dream Lover and Beyond the Sea.
