Many homeowners are dealing with annoying WiFi dead spots as their routers are unable to reach every corner of their home. This problem can be solved by some of the best WiFi extenders:
· NetGear Nighthawk EX7000 (£80) – This has been hailed the best following the results of throughput tests. Among the WiFi extenders that were trialled, it had the longest range in both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands.
· TP-Link’s RE580D (£70) – Also fared well in tests and is great for bargain hunters who want to spend less than £100 on their extender.
Others that made the top five list include TRENDnet TEW-822DRE, D-Link DAP-1620 and Amped Wireless TAP-EX3. These extenders can push data at roughly the speeds of typical 802.11ac routers into a home’s extremities so that every one remains online.
Aside from WiFi extenders, WiFi dead spots can also be remedied by mesh routers that also get a WiFi signal to the furthest reaches of your home. By using mesh, you don’t have to switch between networks as you move through the house. However, they can be expensive, ranging from £250 to £400.
