Belfast deals with discovery of a bomb
Increased uncertainty places more responsibility on individuals who should maintain sufficient building insurance.

A bomb that was recently detected in north Belfast was discovered and residents were evacuated while specialists conducted a controlled explosion. Luckily no one was injured.
Unpredictable things can happen worldwide, which is one of the reasons why people should have their insurance in order.
Based on reports it is believed that previously a car was targeted, and buildings can be at risk of damage, not to mention innocent lives.
Here are just a few of the reasons why you should make sure you have sufficient building insurance to completely rebuild your home:
- Flooding—damage from water can be extensive. Not only does it usually destroy the contents of a home, but it can render a home useless due to mould that can quickly grow in crevices.
Leaving the mould alone can cause health problems and walls usually need to be torn down. In extreme situations, you’re best to scrap the building and start fresh but the job is expensive so your building insurance will need to cover the cost.
- Falling objects—this could be anything from hail to certain objects. If you think about it, there could be viable damage from hail, but also from a tree that might fall over during rough weather and crash through the roof. Check to make sure your building insurance will cover those types of things.
- Vandalism—this is sure to be a greater focal point for building insurance. If the paperwork is not clear, have someone from the company explain exactly what is or is not covered.
