Beckham's new Neighbours

The Beckhams are being lined up to appear on Australian soap 'Neighbours'.

David and Victoria have been approached by Grundy television, which produces the soap, to play themselves in a special European episode.

A source told Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Grundy, which makes 'Neighbours' is deadly serious and the Beckhams are considering it at the moment.

"Television bosses are quietly confident they'll agree to the offer because it will make them even bigger stars across the world."

The bosses of the mega-popular show - which launched the careers of Kylie Minogue and Guy Pierce - are reportedly hoping the appearance of the football ace and the former Spice Girl will boost its ratings.

The source added: "David and Victoria's appearance would be a huge coup for 'Neighbours'. It will really catapult the show on to the A-list, as well as broaden Victoria and David's fame."
