Footballer turns his hand to fashion design...
09:14 29 July 2011
David Beckham has announced that he is to launch a new range of clothing for men.
The new father has signed a long-term contract with fashion chain H&M, bringing his Bodywear line to 1,800 stores around the world from 2 February 2011.
The footballer said of his new venture:
"Over the past year, I've been developing my Bodywear range with my team and I'm extremely positive about what we have designed and produced.
"The final piece in the jigsaw was a retail partner who has the vision and capability to distribute these products globally.
"In H&M we have found the perfect partner to collaborate with going forward."
Beckham's business partner, music mogul and manager to stars such as Andy Murray and David's wife, Victoria, Simon Fuller said:
"This partnership with H&M is an important step in the evolution of David's journey from sporting hero to entrepreneur and icon."
David will be able to get plenty of tips from Victoria, who turned her hand to fashion design in 2007.
