If you are in Bath city and you have this feeling that you are being watched, well it is because you are.
The city is being watched by 200 CCTV cameras that are strategically placed in secret locations to keep the public safe. The cameras are feeding images back to screens, which are manned day and night, 365 days a year. They can detect crimes, including public disturbances, disorderly behaviour, shoplifting, criminal damage, and assaults.
B&NES Council's Steve Bell said: "The technology has improved so much recently, the images are really clear and we are able to help police, ambulance, fire service, retailers or anyone wishing to see the footage.
"We work closely with police, and our images are often used as evidence in court,"
"We also use the cameras to look at the traffic flow in the city, and at Bath Spa and bus stations, there are very busy places especially during rush hour in the mornings and evenings," he added.
"Obviously night time can be a busy time for us will all the night clubs and activity, we keep a good eye on things,"
