Forecasters say Bank Holiday Monday should be the best day of the weekend as heavy rain is expected from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning.
Yesterday, Brits huddled under umbrellas across the country due to heavy downpours and gusty winds. Last night, the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for up to 30mm of rain in South East and East of England as more wet weather has been forecasted for the Bank Holiday weekend.
Today, the country will see a mix of sunny spells and rain showers. Tomorrow, another front will move in from the South West bringing heavy rain from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning. The weather is expected to gradually improve on Sunday. Meanwhile, Monday is expected to be the best day of the weekend.
Nicola Maxey, of the Met Office, said: "Monday should be a much better day, although there will still be a slight risk of a shower.
"There should be some fine and pleasant weather next week for the last few days of the school holidays.
"Most people should see some much more settled weather.
