EE is set to trial its 5G technology and use artificial intelligence (AI) and holographic technology at this year’s BAFTA awards with the goal to help consumers shop for the clothes worn by celebrities.
The event, which is scheduled to take place on February 10, will see Shudu, the world’s first AI stylish brought to life through holographic technology. Celebrities will be invited to pose with Shudu, who will then capture their pictures and share them with viewers at home via an online chatbot.
Using AI technology, Shudu will quickly learn different styles of clothing based on fabric patterns, shapes and cuts. She can also search the internet for affordable matches and provide suggestions based on a user’s preference.
Pete Jeavons, Director of Brand Marketing at EE, said: “Our award-winning network has always let you do more of what you love in more places. This year we’ve gone further than ever to challenge what people might think is possible by using 5G and AI to bring digital supermodel Shudu to life on the BAFTA red carpet.”
