ASOS recalls belts over radioactive fears
The online clothes retailer has withdrawn a number of belts from sale over radioactivity

ASOS, the online clothing company, has recalled a number of belts after it was discovered they were radioactive.
This news came about following a report by the firm – The Guardian has reported - that found consumers may be harmed if they wore the belt for over 500hours.
The belts, which have metal studs on them, have been recalled from across the world reports The Guardian. In total almost 50 belts are believed to have been recalled.
It is believed they were found to be radioactive after tests were carried out. The items were found to contain Cobalt-60.
It is understood that the belts are being kept in a specific storage facility.
A spokesperson from ASOS has said, as reported by The Guardian: “A product supplied to ASOS did not meet UK health and safety standards.
“ASOS worked with all relevant authorities and undertook a precautionary product recall, in line with our high standards of quality and customer care. No other ASOS product lines are affected.
Adding: “ASOS continues to work with the relevant regulatory authorities and is in dialogue with the supplier and the factory workers involved to ensure a satisfactory outcome.”
According to reports, there have been no injuries in connection with the belts as of time of press.
ASOS, whose headquarters are in London, sell items for men and women. They have a range of products including; clothing, footwear, accessories and beauty items. ASOS also sell to many countries across the world from the UK.
