Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal: Defeated by Bayern Munich
Trophy-less for eight straight seasons, Thomas Vermaelen still believes that Arsene Wenger remains the right manager to lead Arsenal.

It was another pain game for Arsenal. Losing the last game to Bayern Munich, this year will mark their eight trophy-less year.
Although the team gave everything they had, in the end, it seems that it wasn’t good enough.
Under-fire boss Arsene Wenger was obviously disappointed with the result.
Jack Wilshere, on the other hand, said that their boss has done a great job and that they, the players, will have to take responsibility. In a statement, he said:
"The boss has been there for 16 years and he has done a great job.
“For me, you can’t question him.
“It’s nothing to do with the manager — it’s up to us to perform.
“The manager can motivate us but we have to do it when we are on the pitch and at the moment we are starting badly.”
Because of the result of the game, Arsenal is nowhere near the title race. Wilshere said that they have to take in and move on. He added:
“There’s always a chance you know.
“We will take it to their place and we’ll have to get a few goals, we know that now.”
