Electric Playbox opens second location in Manchester.
11:58 06 August 2020
Electric Playbox, an interactive gaming attraction, has opened its second location in Manchester Arndale. The venue offers 10 Playbox rooms where games are projected onto all four walls.
Created by the founder of Tough Mudder, the game allows players to interact with the game through motion sensors and touch screen technology. Players can choose from four adventures including a voyage into the future to rescue a royal family and a trip back to 1984 to outwit an alien race taking over the globe.
Co-founder Will Dean said: "I founded Electric Playbox on a belief that play can bring people together and that technology can be harnessed in a positive way to do this.
"We want our adventures to make screen time social again in real life and allow people the chance to step outside normal life for a period of time to enjoy an exciting, playful, immersive experience."
Asked why they chose Manchester for their second location, Will said that Manchester is a "fantastic city with a thriving social culture."
"In addition to this, we had a great opportunity to house the unit in the Arndale Centre which is not only a great development but a great spot in the city centre."
"We think Manchester will love the Electric Playbox concept", he added.
