Ariana Grande nailed it at the Grammys 2019. The American actress, singer and songwriter won the Best Pop Vocal Album at the 61st Grammy Awards. ‘Sweetener’ her fourth studio album took home the honour. It beats out the album by Camila Cabello, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Shawn Mendes and Taylor Swift. It marks the first time Ariana won a Grammy. However, Ariana was not present at the Award show to accept the award. Ariana was also nominated for the Best Pop Vocal Performance. She stole the Grammys spotlight without even showing up.

Ariana Grande was originally scheduled to perform at the event but after a disagreement with the producer of the Grammys, she cancelled the performance at the show. The producer – Ken Ehrlich stated with Assosiated Press that his team had numerous conversations with Ariana regarding her performance, however, they claimed that Ariana ‘’felt it was too late for her to pull something together.’’ Later, Ariana disputed the claims on the Twitter account, and she said that the producer was ‘’lying’’ and stated ‘’I can pull together a performance over night and you know that, Ken. It was when my creativity & self-expression was stifled by you, that I decided not to attend.’’

She further stated: ‘’ I offered 3 different songs. It’s about collaboration. It’s about feeling supported. It’s about art and honesty. No politics. Not doing favours or playing games. It’s just a game y’all.. and I’m sorry but that’s not what music is to me.’’

Ariana appeared to watch and follow along with the ceremony. She praises Janelle Monae’s performance. Later in the program, she created a buzz after she appeared to throw shade at Cardi B for winning the Best Rap Album. Ariana tweeted and deleted the tweet. However, she clarified that the tweets were not directed towards Cardi B. It was rather in response to Mac Miller’s loss. Ariana was previously dating the late rapper. He was also nominated in the same category for his ‘swimming’ album.

Ariana skipped the Grammys Awards 2019 event but that did not stop her from wearing elegant clothes and having a good time. The famous singer got glam for an at-home photoshoot in a silvery blue Zac Posen gown while other stars were shining on the red carpet. Together with the lavish gown, she had a jewelled neck and her signature ponytail.
