Jamie Archer has been voted off The X Factor, making him the first of Simon Cowell's over 25s group to leave the programme.
Archer, who has adopted the moniker Jamie Afro thanks to his distinctive hair, was paired against 16-year-old Lloyd Daniels in the sing-off.
Once again, the judges couldn't agree on who to save which meant that a public vote had to decide, resulting in pub singer Archer being sent home.
Archer said: "It's not the end, it's the beginning.
"I just want to make a record and get out there and play."
It was the fourth week running that the public made the final decision after the judges reached a deadlock.
Simon Cowell had voted to send Welsh teenager Daniels home, but Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh both chose to get rid of 33-year-old Archer.
Before casting her vote for Archer, Dannii Minogue stated: "We are looking for a recording artist - for me it's not about deadlock, it's about who sang the best."
Archer's star mentor, Cowell admitted that he may have let him down with his song choice (Queen's 'The Show Must Go On') but described the music hopeful as a "great guy" who had a "great future ahead".
Twins John and Edward survived the public vote again and received some praise for keeping focussed when musician Calvin Harris ran on stage during their performance on Saturday clutching a pineapple to his head referencing the singers' quiffs.
All 12 finalists returned to the stage on Sunday to sing Michael Jackson's 'You Are Not Alone', which has been released as a charity single to raise money for London's Great Ormond Street children's hospital.
