On Thursday afternoon, an American bomb from World War 2, which contains 1,000 pounds of explosives, has been discovered in a construction site at Happy Valley district Hong Kong. Following the discovery, authorities have evacuated more than 2,200 people. It is believed that the bomb was dropped by the US Navy during WW2, when Japan occupied the then British Colony.
Senior bomb disposal officer Jimmy Yuen said: "Because the explosive inside was very sensitive, we had to cut the shell in a low-temperature environment, so the process took longer than expected.”
