What is Amazon Echo Connect and how can you use it to make calls?

Echo Connect is a new accessory that turns your Echo speaker into a voice-controlled speakerphone. It allows you to contact anyone from you phone’s address book (both local and international calls) as well as make emergency calls. To use it, you need to have a landline or VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), a compatible Echo speaker, and the Alexa app on your mobile phone.
Echo Connect connects to your existing phone line or VoIP. To use it, simply ask Alexa via your Echo speaker to call anyone. Echo Connect will then dial the number.
To set up the Echo Connect, you must connect it to your phone line via a phone jack. Then synch your contacts to the Alexa app on your phone. The app will find and connect your Echo Connect with your Echo speaker. This allows you to call a contact or a number by simply asking Alexa.
Echo Connect also answers incoming call. If your home phone rings and you want to talk hands-free, just say “Alexa, answer the phone.” If the caller is included in your contact list, Alexa will tell you his or her name.
