The Amazon Academy has returned to Scotland to help small business owners, entrepreneurs, and tech start-ups grow their export sales and boost their productivity. Speakers at the momentous event include the Founder of Enterprise Nation, Parveen Thornhill, Emma Jones MBE, Regional Director, and Department for International Trade. Three small business owners also spoke during the event and told their own success stories.
The Amazon Academy has chosen Glasgow for this event because it is now recognised as one of the UK’s leading tech spots outside London and one of the ideal locations in the country for start-ups. Aside from the fact that it boasts one of the UK’s most vibrant and dynamic economies, it is also the ideal place for finding and developing the next generation of Amazon entrepreneurs because 41per cent of its population are early adopters and technology enthusiasts. With four universities and three higher education collages, it is also a major centre of education and academic research.
A recent survey commissioned by Amazon also found that Scotland’s good quality of life is one of the appealing aspects of setting up a small business north of the border.
