Alicia Silverstone hid in a cardboard box to escape newshounds chasing her through an airport.

The 'Clueless' star said she was so terrified when paparazzi gave chase

- shouting "fat girl" at her - she jumped inside a container and laid low.

The sexy actress earned the cruel nickname after dressing up in a tight PVC catsuit, which showed off her curves as Bat Girl in movie 'Batman and Robin'.

She added she has always been sensitive about her appearance, saying: "A group of photographers suddenly gave chase in LA airport screaming, 'Hey, Fat Girl!'

I just had to escape. I ended up hiding in a box."

Meanwhile, the star has slammed Hollywood stars for being obsessed with their weight.

She revealed to Britain's Independent Arts and Books Review: "There are so many young girls who are bulimic or anorexic because of all this nonsense about weight. It's ridiculous.

"To me, the only thing that makes someone attractive is if they're a good person."
