Eastenders favourite Alfie Moon will reportedly leave love interest Little Mo holding the baby when he quits Albert Square.
The Sunday Mirror claims that the soap's scriptwriters have planned a dramatic exit for actor Shane Richie, which will see his character father the lovechild of his wife's sister.
The paper claims that Walford's cheeky charmer will secretly get together with Little Mo after months of furtive glances and clandestine meetings between the pair.
But Alfie will reportedly then go straight back to his wife, Little Mo's fiery sister Kat, only to learn that he's got the wrong Slater sister pregnant.
"Alfie is totally gobsmacked when he finds out Little Mo is pregnant. He just knows that he's the father," and unnamed "insider" told the Sunday Mirror.
"The storyline is going to rock Albert Square and rip the Slater sisters apart. Alfie ends up leaving Walford in complete turmoil."
Sources claim that Eastenders scriptwriters have devised the plot to leave the door open for one of the soap's most popular characters to return to Albert Square at a later date.
Meanwhile, 42-year-old Richie is planning to star in a stage version of the Charles Dickens classic Scrooge this December.
