As EastEnders bosses ditch the Ferreiras and postpone the Mitchells, one family they are looking to expand is the Moons.

The BBC has said that, as the new year approaches, two new Moon brothers, Jake and Danny, will be arriving in Albert Square to team up with loveable losers Alfie and Spencer.

But while puppy-eyed Alfie and kid brother Spence are the darlings of Walford, their second-cousins are definitely 'dark Moons'.

And the arrival of the new boys unearths details about Alfie's past that he has been trying to keep quiet since his arrival.

Jake will be played by Joel Beckett, famous for playing Dawn's boyfriend Lee in The Office, while Danny will be played by Jake Maskall.

Viewers will get to see the new Moons arrive on Thursday December 30th.
