Hollywood actress Farrah Fawcett has lost her battle with cancer and has died age 62.
The 'Charlie's Angels' star, was admitted to an intensive care unit in Los Angeles hospital following a deterioration in her health.
Fawcett had been battling cancer for three years and despite being given the all clear in 2006, the disease later returned.
Her long-term boyfriend Ryan O'Neal revealed earlier in the week that he planned to marry her. He was at her bedside with family when the actress passed away.
O'Neal said in a statement: "After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away.
"Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."
The couple started dating in the 80s. They had one son together, Redmond, who is currently serving a prison sentence for drug use.
