Aberdeenshire Smart IoT Project
A new Internet of Things (IoT) project is set to transform the the lives of Aberdeenshire residents.

Aberdeenshire Council is working together with North, the leading IoT and solutions provider in the UK, in a project that will see the trial of six smart technologies that will allow the local authority to access real-time data that will empower them to make informed decisions in a timely manner.
North's IoT Accelerator Pack Programme is set to be rolled out in Westhill, Ellon and Stonehaven along with other 9 towns with the goal to explore reductions across cost and energy consumption as well as carbon footprint. One of the pilot schemes will see the deployment of road temperature sensors across the region. They are designed to provide the local council with information such as emissions generated by extra trips and applicable waste management solutions, among others.
