Anna Larsson’s successful battle against sugar has turned her into a social media sensation.
The 38-year-old mum shared her experience after realising that her young daughter’s unhealthy craving has affected her mood. She said that after she made a conscious decision to drastically cut her child’s sugar instake, she noticed that the little girl was no longer asking for yoghurts and iced buns. Instead, she happily consumed healthy options she would once have rejected. She was also less grumpy and sleeping better.
Commenting on the overwhelming response she received on Facebook, she said: "I was in shock at the response. I really don't know why it happened. We know it is bad to give a lot of sugar to kids, or to anyone, so it is not news.
"I think I got this result with my story because I am just a normal person, and not a doctor or nutritionist."
Sharing the positive outcomes of her battle against sugar, she said that her daughter is “calming down so quickly, falling asleep so quickly in the evenings - and she did not want to look at the television all the time, she wanted to do things."
