5G
5G is THE building block for smart cities.

5G is the key to address the growing demand for a connected city. As the requirements of inhabitants change, cities must be able to evolve in order to keep up. Two centuries ago, the emergence of new technologies has paved the way for the Industrial Revolution, which altered our cities. Today, we are going through yet another technological revolution and it is high time for our cities to play catch up with our technology-driven lives.
Fortunately, 5G, which is the building block for smart cities, is coming. It is exactly what the cities in the world need to handle the demands of hundreds of thousands of sensors and systems. In the UK, 5G is starting to revolutionise many industries including healthcare. It made remote healthcare possible allowing doctors to monitor their patients’ conditions from their own home. This reduces patient stress particularly those who are too ill to travel.
For remote healthcare to work, it is important that healthcare services to have a robust network as connectivity issues or ill-equipped networks that cannot handle increased data flows could threaten the entire remote healthcare ecosystem and ultimately put patient’s lives at risk.
