Even before the pandemic, Microsoft Teams was one of the fastest growing products around. Many people started to use Teams because of its many features and the way many things can be done without going to any other software or apps. However, even though you might know a lot about teams, there are some features you might not have found. Let us look at 5 Microsoft Teams features you might not have previously known about.

2 The Search Bar

If you are new to Microsoft Teams, then you will find the search bar an invaluable tool. Located at the top of the screen, you can search for anything that is held in your team's account including chat messages, files, and quick links to calls and chats. 

By typing the / key into the search bar, you will be presented with a list of commands that will help you navigate Teams. You can also use the Control plus F combination (Command plus F on Mac OS) to carry out a quick search.

One of the benefits of using Teams is the ability to switch between devices without losing connection or having to use a complicated process. 

If you are in a meeting on your laptop, but need to switch to your mobile device, then all you need to do is open the Microsoft Teams app on your phone. You will then be given the option to join the existing meeting.

Although Teams can do a lot on its own, it is also useful to share some things across teams such as from an email. If you receive an email that you want the rest of your team to see, you can easily send it across to them. 

On your Teams channel, you will have the option to ‘Get Email Address.’ You can get the email address for your team's channel there and send your email to it. It will then be available to everyone on your team. 

5 Pin Channels You Use the Most

If you are a member of several channels, you might want to have access to the most used ones quickly. To do this, simply highlight the channel you want, click the ellipsis and choose ‘Pin.’ 

The channel will now be displayed at the top of your Teams window in the ‘Pinned’ section. This will make it a lot quicker to access channels that you use the most and speed up your working time.
